Introducing Google Chrome Operating system

Here is just what I got something for the Google blog soon they will soon launch Google OS,Operating System mainly targeted to net books.

Google Talk in Firefox

The Googletalk Gadget is clearly more usable than the stand-alone GTalk desktop client or the floating AJAX version in GMail.

Here, each chat session opens up as a tab (like Firefox browser tabs), it can show previews of images or video and the chat client can easily be embedded inside webpages.
There's however a small problem - while we have browser windows in front of us all the time, the same may not hold true for the webpage (like the Google personalized page) where we have embedded the GTalk gadget.

So here's an alternate option - put the Google Talk client in the Firefox sidebar so it always stays in the foreground no matter what website you are on currently.

To add Google Talk to your Firefox sidebar, bookmark the following URL (right-click and choose Bookmark this link)

Now goto Bookmarks menu, navigate to the above bookmark, right click and choose Properties. Tick the checkbox that says Load this bookmark in the sidebar

Ten Reasons why your crash u must know


Fatal error: the system has become unstable or is busy," it says. "Enter to return to Windows or press Control-Alt-Delete to restart your computer. If you do this you will lose any unsaved information in all open applications."

You have just been struck by the Blue Screen of Death. Anyone who uses Mcft Windows will be familiar with this. What can you do? More importantly, how can you prevent it happening?

1. Hardware conflict



The number one reason why Windows crashes is hardware conflict. Each hardware device communicates to other devices through an interrupt request channel (IRQ). These are supposed to be unique for each device.

For example, a printer usually connects internally on IRQ 7. The keyboard usually uses IRQ 1 and the floppy disk drive IRQ 6. Each device will try to hog a single IRQ for itself.

If there are a lot of devices, or if they are not installed properly, two of them may end up sharing the same IRQ number. When the user tries to use both devices at the same time, a crash can happen. The way to check if your computer has a hardware conflict is through the following route:

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-System-Device Manager.

Often if a device has a problem a yellow '!' appears next to its description in the Device Manager. Highlight Computer (in the Device Manager) and press Properties to see the IRQ numbers used by your computer. If the IRQ number appears twice, two devices may be using it.

Sometimes a device might share an IRQ with something described as 'IRQ holder for PCI steering'. This can be ignored. The best way to fix this problem is to remove the problem device and reinstall it.

Sometimes you may have to find more recent drivers on the internet to make the device function properly. A good resource is www.driverguide.com. If the device is a soundcard, or a modem, it can often be fixed by moving it to a different slot on the motherboard (be careful about opening your computer, as you may void the warranty).

When working inside a computer you should switch it off, unplug the mains lead and touch an unpainted metal surface to discharge any static electricity.

To be fair to Mcft, the problem with IRQ numbers is not of its making. It is a legacy problem going back to the first PC designs using the IBM 8086 chip. Initially there were only eight IRQs. Today there are 16 IRQs in a PC. It is easy to run out of them. There are plans to increase the number of IRQs in future designs.

2.

Bad Ram


Ram (random-access memory) problems might bring on the blue screen of death with a message saying Fatal Exception Error. A fatal error indicates a serious hardware problem. Sometimes it may mean a part is damaged and will need replacing.

But a fatal error caused by Ram might be caused by a mismatch of chips. For example, mixing 70-nanosecond (70ns) Ram with 60ns Ram will usually force the computer to run all the Ram at the slower speed. This will often crash the machine if the Ram is overworked.

One way around this problem is to enter the BIOS settings and increase the wait state of the Ram. This can make it more stable. Another way to troubleshoot a suspected Ram problem is to rearrange the Ram chips on the motherboard, or take some of them out. Then try to repeat the circumstances that caused the crash. When handling Ram try not to touch the gold connections, as they can be easily damaged.

Parity error messages also refer to Ram. Modern Ram chips are either parity (ECC) or non parity (non-ECC). It is best not to mix the two types, as this can be a cause of trouble.

EMM386 error messages refer to memory problems but may not be connected to bad Ram. This may be due to free memory problems often linked to old Dos-based programmes.

3.

Bios Settings


Every motherboard is supplied with a range of chipset settings that are decided in the factory. A common way to access these settings is to press the F2 or delete button during the first few seconds of a boot-up.

Once inside the BIOS, great care should be taken. It is a good idea to write down on a piece of paper all the settings that appear on the screen. That way, if you change something and the computer becomes more unstable, you will know what settings to revert to.

A common BIOS error concerns the CAS latency. This refers to the Ram. Older EDO (extended data out) Ram has a CAS latency of 3. Newer SDRam has a CAS latency of 2. Setting the wrong figure can cause the Ram to lock up and freeze the computer's display.

Mcft Windows is better at allocating IRQ numbers than any BIOS. If possible set the IRQ numbers to Auto in the BIOS. This will allow Windows to allocate the IRQ numbers (make sure the BIOS setting for Plug and Play OS is switched to 'yes' to allow Windows to do this.).

4.

Hard Disk Drives


After a few weeks, the information on a hard disk drive starts to become piecemeal or fragmented. It is a good idea to defragment the hard disk every week or so, to prevent the disk from causing a screen freeze. Go to

* Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-Disk Defragmenter

This will start the procedure. You will be unable to write data to the hard drive (to save it) while the disk is defragmenting, so it is a good idea to schedule the procedure for a period of inactivity using the Task Scheduler.

The Task Scheduler should be one of the small icons on the bottom right of the Windows opening page (the desktop).

Some lockups and screen freezes caused by hard disk problems can be solved by reducing the read-ahead optimisation. This can be adjusted by going to

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-System Icon-Performance-File System-Hard Disk.

Hard disks will slow down and crash if they are too full. Do some housekeeping on your hard drive every few months and free some space on it. Open the Windows folder on the C drive and find the Temporary Internet Files folder. Deleting the contents (not the folder) can free a lot of space.

Empty the Recycle Bin every week to free more space. Hard disk drives should be scanned every week for errors or bad sectors. Go to

* Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-ScanDisk

Otherwise assign the Task Scheduler to perform this operation at night when the computer is not in use.

5.

Fatal OE exceptions and VXD errors


Fatal OE exception errors and VXD errors are often caused by video card problems.

These can often be resolved easily by reducing the resolution of the video display. Go to

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-Display-Settings

Here you should slide the screen area bar to the left. Take a look at the colour settings on the left of that window. For most desktops, high colour 16-bit depth is adequate.

If the screen freezes or you experience system lockups it might be due to the video card. Make sure it does not have a hardware conflict. Go to

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-System-Device Manager

Here, select the + beside Display Adapter. A line of text describing your video card should appear. Select it (make it blue) and press properties. Then select Resources and select each line in the window. Look for a message that says No Conflicts.

If you have video card hardware conflict, you will see it here. Be careful at this point and make a note of everything you do in case you make things worse.

The way to resolve a hardware conflict is to uncheck the Use Automatic Settings box and hit the Change Settings button. You are searching for a setting that will display a No Conflicts message.

Another useful way to resolve video problems is to go to

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-System-Performance-Graphics

Here you should move the Hardware Acceleration slider to the left. As ever, the most common cause of problems relating to graphics cards is old or faulty drivers (a driver is a small piece of software used by a computer to communicate with a device).

Look up your video card's manufacturer on the internet and search for the most recent drivers for it.

6.

Viruses


Often the first sign of a virus infection is instability. Some viruses erase the boot sector of a hard drive, making it impossible to start. This is why it is a good idea to create a Windows start-up disk. Go to

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs

Here, look for the Start Up Disk tab. Virus protection requires constant vigilance.

A virus scanner requires a list of virus signatures in order to be able to identify viruses. These signatures are stored in a DAT file. DAT files should be updated weekly from the website of your antivirus software manufacturer.

An excellent antivirus programme is McAfee VirusScan by Network Associates ( www.nai.com). Another is Norton AntiVirus 2000, made by Symantec ( www.symantec.com).

7.

Printers



The action of sending a document to print creates a bigger file, often called a postscript file.

Printers have only a small amount of memory, called a buffer. This can be easily overloaded. Printing a document also uses a considerable amount of CPU power. This will also slow down the computer's performance.

If the printer is trying to print unusual characters, these might not be recognised, and can crash the computer. Sometimes printers will not recover from a crash because of confusion in the buffer. A good way to clear the buffer is to unplug the printer for ten seconds. Booting up from a powerless state, also called a cold boot, will restore the printer's default settings and you may be able to carry on.

8.

Software



A common cause of computer crash is faulty or badly-installed software. Often the problem can be cured by uninstalling the software and then reinstalling it. Use Norton Uninstall or Uninstall Shield to remove an application from your system properly. This will also remove references to the programme in the System Registry and leaves the way clear for a completely fresh copy.

The System Registry can be corrupted by old references to obsolete software that you thought was uninstalled. Use Reg Cleaner by Jouni Vuorio to clean up the System Registry and remove obsolete entries. It works on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98 SE (Second Edition), Windows Millennium Edition (ME), NT4 and Windows 2000.

Read the instructions and use it carefully so you don't do permanent damage to the Registry.

If the Registry is damaged you will have to reinstall your operating system. Reg Cleaner can be obtained from www.jv16.org

Often a Windows problem can be resolved by entering Safe Mode. This can be done during start-up. When you see the message "Starting Windows" press F4. This should take you into Safe Mode.

Safe Mode loads a minimum of drivers. It allows you to find and fix problems that prevent Windows from loading properly.

Sometimes installing Windows is difficult because of unsuitable BIOS settings. If you keep getting SUWIN error messages (Windows setup) during the Windows installation, then try entering the BIOS and disabling the CPU internal cache. Try to disable the Level 2 (L2) cache if that doesn't work.

Remember to restore all the BIOS settings back to their former settings following installation.

9.

Overheating


Central processing units (CPUs) are usually equipped with fans to keep them cool. If the fan fails or if the CPU gets old it may start to overheat and generate a particular kind of error called a kernel error. This is a common problem in chips that have been overclocked to operate at higher speeds than they are supposed to.

One remedy is to get a bigger better fan and install it on top of the CPU. Specialist cooling fans/heatsinks are available from www.computernerd.com or www.coolit.com

CPU problems can often be fixed by disabling the CPU internal cache in the BIOS. This will make the machine run more slowly, but it should also be more stable.

10.

Power Supply Problems


With all the new construction going on around the country the steady supply of electricity has become disrupted. A power surge or spike can crash a computer as easily as a power cut.

If this has become a nuisance for you then consider buying a uninterrupted power supply (UPS). This will give you a clean power supply when there is electricity, and it will give you a few minutes to perform a controlled shutdown in case of a power cut.

It is a good investment if your data are critical, because a power cut will cause any unsaved data to be lost.

Introducing Mozilla Ubiquity



You’re writing an email to invite a friend to meet at a local San Francisco restaurant that neither of you has been to. You’d like to include a map. Today, this involves the disjointed tasks of message composition on a web-mail service, mapping the address on a map site, searching for reviews on the restaurant on a search engine, and finally copying all links into the message being composed. This familiar sequence is an awful lot of clicking, typing, searching, copying, and pasting in order to do a very simple task. And you haven’t even really sent a map or useful reviews—only links to them.
The overall goals of Ubiquity are to explore how best to:

* Empower users to control the web browser with language-based instructions. (With search, users type what they want to find. With Ubiquity, they type what they want to do.)
* Enable on-demand, user-generated mashups with existing open Web APIs. (In other words, allowing everyone–not just Web developers–to remix the Web so it fits their needs, no matter what page they are on, or what they are doing.)
* Use Trust networks and social constructs to balance security with ease of extensibility.
* Extend the browser functionality easily.


Starting Ubiquity



If you haven't already done so, install Ubiquity. Once you've done that, you can summon Ubiquity by tapping option-space on the Mac, or control-space if you're on Windows. On Linux, try control-alt-space

(On Linux, Ubiquity isn't fully supported yet. Some of the commands will work, but others won't. This is because we're missing a system to display output messages. See the section above.)

Once you hit the appropriate key-combo, you'll be presented with a transparent black box, with a blinking white cursor, in the upper-left of your browser.



Emailing



Right now, the email command uses Google Mail. That means you'll only be able to follow along with the next part of the tutorial if you have a GMail account. Eventually, of course, the command should work with all major web-based email providers, as well as applications like Thunderbird. (If you're a programmer, we'd love some help with that.) For now, if you have a GMail account, please make sure you're logged in. If you don't, you might want to skip ahead to the next part of the tutorial.

Assuming you're logged into your GMail account, issue "email". In the suggestion list, you'll see a suggestion that says "Email (message) (to contact)".




This is a clue that the Email command expects two pieces of information: the message is what you're emailing, and the contact is who you want to send it to. However, you can leave out one of these things — or both of them — and the Email command will still work. So I can issue any of these commands:

* "email hello"
* "email to chris"
* "email hello to chris"
* "email to chris hello"

I'm using "chris" because that's the name of someone in my GMail contacts list. If you don't have a "chris" in your contacts list, just substitute the name of any of your friends in these examples.

Let's say I've found an interesting fact on a web page and I want to send it to Chris. I can select part of the page, including links, pictures, and anything else, and then issue "email this to chris". Ubiquity understands "this" to refer to my selection. (I could also have said "email it to chris" or "email selection to chris" -- all of these are equivalent.) The selected part of the page shows up in my preview:

King Of Pop Michael Jackson Is Dead At 50

The 50-year-old singer was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital in in a deep coma.

Jackson's brother Jermaine said it was believed he suffered a cardiac arrest in his home in Holmby Hills.

"My brother, the legendary King of Pop, passed away on Thursday, June 25, at 2.26pm.

"We believe he suffered a cardiac arrest at his home, however the cause of his death is unknown until the results of the autopsy are known.
"His personal physician, who was with him at the time, attempted to resuscitate my brother, as did the paramedics who transported him to UCLA Medical Centre in Los Angeles.

"On arrival at 1.14pm a team of doctors including emergency physicians and cardiologists attempted to resuscitate him for one hour but they were unsuccessful."

He asked for the media to respect the Jackson family's privacy during "this tough time".

Jackson was pronounced dead at about 1426 local time (2226 British time).

Fred Corral, of the Los Angeles County Coroner's office, said the cause of death was not known and a post-mortem was due to take place later today.

A spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department said the robbery and homicide team was investigating Jackson's death because of its "high profile" but warned reporters not to read anything into this.

Jackson was married twice and leaves three children.

People have been gathering outside the hospital to pay their respects.

Sky's US correspondent Robert Nisbet said people had descended on the legendary Apollo Theatre in New York and flowers were being placed on Jackson's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.

Known as the King of Pop for hit albums that included songs like Thriller and Billie Jean, Jackson's dramatic stage presence and innovative dance moves were imitated by legions of fans around the world.

But Jackson's belief that "I am Peter Pan in my heart", his preference for the company of children, his friendship with a chimp, his high-pitched voice and numerous plastic surgeries also earned him critics and the nickname Wacko Jacko.

Jackson, who had lived as a virtual recluse since being cleared in 2005 of charges of child molestation, had been scheduled to launch a comeback tour at London's O2 Arena next month.

The concerts were due to start on July 13 and Jackson had been rehearsing in LA for the shows, which sold out within hours of going on sale in March.

Sky News reporter Bianca Westwood, outside the UCLA medical centre, said she had spoken to Brian Oxman, one of the Jackson family lawyers.

She said: "He told me it was something he had expected for some time now. He said he had warned the family, Michael himself and everybody surrounding Michael about his use of medication and his concerns about what may happen."

Celebrities and stars around the globe were overwhelmed by sorrow and shock.

Music producer Quincy Jones said: "I am absolutely devastated at this tragic and unexpected news."

He said Jackson "had it all - talent, grace, professionalism and dedication.

"I've lost my little brother today, and part of my soul has gone with him."

The Rev Al Sharpton told reporters Jackson was a "trailblazer" and a "historic figure".

"Michael Jackson made culture accept a person of colour way before Tiger Woods, way before Oprah Winfrey, way before Barack Obama.

China Blocks Google

BEIJING: China's government accused Google Inc. on Thursday of spreading pornography after Chinese Internet users were temporarily unable to gain
access to the U.S. search giant's main Web site or China-based service.



"We have found that the English version of google.com has spread lots of pornographic, lewd and vulgar content, which is in serious violation of Chinese laws and regulations," said foreign ministry spokesman Qin Gang. He said authorities "summoned representatives of Google.com in China and urged them to remove the content immediately."

Qin, speaking at a regular briefing, did not respond to questions about whether China's government was blocking Web users from seeing Google's site. However, he said he hoped the problem can be "resolved immediately." Google said Thursday it was investigating the reason for the outage, which began late Wednesday.

Chinese users were blocked from seeing Google's US site, its China-based site google.cn and its Gmail e-mail service. A Chinese watchdog agency accused Google last week of providing links to vulgar and obscene sites.

Google, based in Mountainview, Calif., said it would do more to stop users in China from accessing pornography. "I would like to stress that Google.com, as an Internet enterprise providing services in China, should earnestly abide by all Chinese laws," Qin said.

"All the punitive measures adopted by the relevant authorities are conducted strictly according to law." The Chinese agency that oversees the Internet, the ministry of industry and information technology, did not immediately respond to requests for comment. China has the world's largest population of Internet users at more than 298 million.

The communist government has the world's most extensive web monitoring and filtering system, and it regularly blocks access to foreign websites. Authorities launched a crackdown this year that led to the closing of more than 1,900 porn-related websites. Google has struggled to expand in China, where it says it has about 30% of the search market. The company launched Google.cn with a Chinese partner after seeing its market share erode as government filters slowed access to its US service. Read more

Speed up your torrents!

U feel Torrentz are slow but still u want to use them oh yeah??ok learn this trick ;)
I dont see any new topic on this and that is why iam posting it here

It use useful for all those who feels tht their torrents is slow ..

recently i had upgraded my net to BSNL ev-do which offers upto 2mbps of speed and unlimited data transfer but dose not support rapidshare downloading and is also very slow in torrents ..
So i started searching for an alternative for it and finally found an interesting and good one

but it recently launched a torrent drive
u just upload a . torrent file to its image drive and it will download the torrent for u in its server and saves in the image drive alloted to u,
after completion u can directly download the torrent using ur regular download manager, like any other files from internet, from image drive ....

The free users will be given a 5gb of disk space to store the downloaded torrents which is reusable upon deletion of data
But the monthly download bandwidth is restricted to 10g.b

I had also found two small hacks in this free service
One is ...u can increase ur space and bandwidth by opening fakes....
secondly there is a prob here which is the torrent download service is first offered to premium users and if there is any bandwidth left free users can use it
But when any one of u get the message that there is no free user limit then u can start refreshing the page (use auto refresh addon in firefox) until it starts the torrent

Hello Guys and Gals Now its time for something funny I searched alike a hell lot of But no use So I am just coming up with this I just saw a post on this Its
1. Flash the bios with a bogus file .
2. Run a magnet over EVERYTHING.(Did this on my Screen)
3. Using the control panel, add hardware that doesnt exist.
4. Change user passwords.
5. Click to every spyware site you can go to.
6. Install 100 virius .
7. Write a little javascript (or vb) prog that makes 1000 popups and then one that you have to answer yes to for it to stop and make it run every bootup.
8. Change the language to chinese .
9. Glue the CD drive shut.
10. put water on the power cable and then some metal filings and then plug in .
11. Jam a piece of metal in a slot .
12. Fry the motherboard by taking a car battery and sending a surge of power through it.

Some more:

- Tape the CPU fan.
- Pull out a capacitor.
- Connect the IDE cables with the computer on .
- Anything with water works..
- Burrying in sand and turning it on directly afterwards.
- submerging the hard drive, remove put it in the fridge wait 2 hrs plug into computer.
- connect it to a lightning rod grounding wire.
- While your at a skyscraper doing this, just toss it out the window somewhere above the 10th floor.
- create a batch script to partition the drive for a few hours/days.
- overclock and remove all fans.

Hey...Long Time Since I did A post here I am back with something new most of the time When u install a Software it says ur Pc will be re started after u press "Ok" and U dnt want that I know its very annoying some time's it causes us to loose very Information too! I think if we follow these steps We can stop that by following these ways:
Now just push the Windows key + R (Shortcut key for Run)
Write in "shutdown -a" (of course without quotes)
DO NOT PRESS ENTER
then Press "oK" button which restarts ur Pc

India Releasing a new coin

India will soon be releasing this new coin And it will be not having that cover in the picture
RBI is ready to issue a new bimetallic 10 Rupee coin for circulation.
The look: The obverse side has the lion capitol with numeral 10 and year of manufacture. On reverse side, a double line cross with a dot in each pellet of cross and denomination written in Hindi and English around.

This design has been prepaed by National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad with the theme of Unity in Diversity. The outer side metal is Nickel-Bronze and the inner side metal is Ferrous Steel. The weight of the coin would be 8 grams and the diameter would be 28 mm.

The coins are being minted at mainly Noida and Mumbai mint. The coins worth Rs.70 million was already stored in its stock till August 2008.

You’ve eliminated the possibility of viruses and adware, so this just leaves you and a broken IE. Before you begin to even consider running a repair install of the OS, let’s try to do a repair on IE instead.

THE REPAIR PROCESS

Start the Registry Editor by typing regedit from the Run box. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Active Setup \ Installed Components \ {89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383} and then right-click the “IsInstalled value.” Click Modify. From there, you will change the value from 1 to 0. All right, go ahead and close the editor and reinstall IE from this location. /http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx

IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG

If messing with the registry and something goes horribly wrong, you can use “Last Known Good Configuration (F8 Safe Mode)” or a Restore Point to get back to where you were before, with your settings. Then you can try again, this time taking care to watch the portion of the registry you are changing. Most people who have troubles with this end up changing the wrong registry key.

Boot Xp Faster than Ever!

How to boot Winxp Faster??May be many people search for this and why other tricks to boot faster
Follow the following steps:
1. Open notepad.exe, type "del c:\windows\prefetch\ntosboot-*.* /q" (without the quotes) & save as "ntosboot.bat" in c:\
2. From the Start menu, select "Run..." & type "gpedit.msc".
3. Double click "Windows Settings" under "Computer Configuration" and double click again on "Shutdown" in the right window.
4. In the new window, click "add", "Browse", locate your "ntosboot.bat" file & click "Open".
5. Click "OK", "Apply" & "OK" once again to exit.
6. From the Start menu, select "Run..." & type "devmgmt.msc".
7. Double click on "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"
8. Right click on "Primary IDE Channel" and select "Properties".
9. Select the "Advanced Settings" tab then on the device or 1 that doesn't have 'device type' greyed out select 'none' instead of 'autodetect' & click "OK".
10. Right click on "Secondary IDE channel", select "Properties" and repeat step 9.
11. Reboot your computer.

step one. purchase 20 dollar a month subscription to MSN unlimited access dial up. This will include an MSN 9 cd which you will need. With the software installed, fill up your secondary account slots with new users. Make sure you pick @msn if it gives you the choice, hotmail email addresses will not work..

say the secondary account is johnsmith@msn.com type in the Dial up connection

PASS: ******* (whatever)

connect to your local msn phone number and the other people you gave secondary accounts to will be able to do the same, while you are connected. Its a sweet deal considering everyone is paying about 2 bucks a month for internet access, especially if you cannot get broadband. if you wanted to sell off the access to people you could actually make money doing this.. but i do not suggest it.

Format Ur Computer Via Hard Drive

Format ur Pc Via HarDDrive The limitation is that u should have a OS previously installed and u can't format C:\ drive except from it u can format all other drives

Make a image of your Xp SP2 in your hard drive or borrow it from someone in your pen drive and mount this image via demon tool,alchohal, clone cd or any other virtual drive

now double click it


A window appears and ask u what do u want to do
Select install windows Xp professional/home edition
Now a new windows open in that click next and it will ask for key
Give the key
Click next
Now a option comes copy files in here click copy files in hard disk
Now press next
It will start copying file in your hdd
And restart the windows
Now follow the normal procedure

And now u can format your any drive (if it has OS also u can format)

Caps Lock Key On or Not?


In this post I am going to teach u all guys that how to get pinged to know when caps lock key is on.Some may do it for fun I am so sure.
Anyways Lets carry on!

With this tip, I'll show you how to make your computer beep & flash the next time it happens.

The first thing you need to do is get the computer to beep when you hit the Caps Lock key. Here's how:

1. Click the Start button, Settings, Control Panel (XP Users, hit the Start button, Control Panel). Open the Accessibility Options Icon.

2. On the Keyboard tab, click the "Use Toggle Keys" checkbox.

That's it for the beeping part. (OK )

Next, we need to get your screen to flash you, err, flash at you.
HOW TO DO THIS

1. From the Accessibility Options screen, click the Sound tab and check the "Use SoundSentry" checkbox.

2. Next click the Settings button and select "Flash active window" from the "Warning for windowed programs" drop down box.

That's it. Hit OK until you're clear of property and settings screens.

TO SEE IT WORKING

Open your favorite word processor and hit your Caps Lock key.

Format Ur Pendrive In NTFS File system

This trick is going to tell u that how to format ur pendrive in the NTFS File System.This Trick might be useful for some of the users..
The below steps to format pen drive in NTFS File System.

a. Insert USB drive in your PC
b. Goto Device Manager
c. Select Disk Drives and expand
d. Right Click on USB drive and select Properties
e. Goto policies tab and select Optimize for performance and press OK
f. Open My Computer, Click on USB Drive and select Format Opton

Now you can have NTFS option there.


or do the following:

1. Go to Start ->Run -> cmd and press enter.
2. Type convert X: /FS:NTFS ( Where X is your Pen Drive Letter)

The File System is now converted to NTFS. Now its time to enable compression:

1. Go to My Computer and Right Click on your Pen Drive Icon and select Properties.
2. Select Compress Drive to Save Disk Space and then OK.
3. Then Select Apply To Sub Folders and Files and select ok ( if Asked)
All Done, the free space of the pen drive will increase and if you copy anything in the drive it will take less space.

Just follow the simple steps Below:

1)Right click on the Google Talk shortcut.

2)click on Properties.

3)Go to Shortcut tab on Google Talk Properties window.

Hide Icons on A pc..!!

The above pc looks filthy with too many Icons isn't it??This trick will Allow u to Hide ALL the ICONS on the pc
HIDE ALL DESKTOP ICONS
(Windows + R)
Type Regedit
Then go in till:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer


NoDesktop (DWORD value):

Set to 1 to hide all icons.

Delete NoDesktop to undo.

Hit F5 to refresh the desktop.

Hide Network Neighborhood, My Network Places (9x)

Run Poledit.exe (You may have to install it: It is on your Windows CD in\tools\reskit\netadmin\poledit).

File > Open Registry > (double click) Local User > Shell > Restrictions

Check Hide Network Neighborhood or/and My Network Places

OK > File > Save

Reboot.

Rename Start Button!--Truly Fun!

Another Renaming trick..I hope the last :-ss hehe The photo describes it all!!U r going to change the Start Button's name now!
Renaming The Start Button:
To rename the start button, you will need a hex editor.(ultraEdit)

Copy the \windows\explore.exe file to a new name (e.g. explorer_1.exe)
With the hex editor, open that file and go to offset 412b6
You will see the word start with blanks between each letter
Edit it be any 5 characters or less
Save the file
Boot to DOS
Copy the existing c:\windows\explorer.exe to explorer.org
Copy explorer_1.exe to explorer.exe
You will also need to replace the explorer.exe in the c:\windows\system32\dllcache file as well with the new one.
Note: If the partition is NTFS and you can't access the files from DOS:

Start Regedit (Windows + R)
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon.
Change the value of Shell from Explorer.exe to explorer_1.exe.

Convert Trial Edition to Full one!

Tired of Trial???Try this may get u the full verion....
follow these steps...

start -> run .. type regedit ->HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> software -> microsoft -> office -> 12.0 ->

registration -> (clik on the first number series) -> now select (DigitalProductID,LicenseType,TrialType)

and press 'del' key to delete them and then exit registry....


now open C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Office12\Office Setup Controller\Proof.en ...
now open the Proof file(XML Document) in it with NOTEPAD ....
now under the last line u wil find ....
now replace "" with "neverinstalled" ...(including the inverted commas

too)....


pls be careful while editing them...

Change the name of your internet explorer

Hehe another Fun trick just like last one the method is different..
1. Open Registry Editor

2. Move to the following key.

3. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet. Explorer\Main.

4. In the Right Panel look for the string "Window Title" and change its value as u wish. If the String value is not there create a New String value and assign the value as your wish.

Skip Booting screen

Some users don't like having to log on to Windows XP. When they restart the computer, they want it to boot all the way to the desktop without stopping at the Log On To Windows dialog box along the way.Follow this trick to get the mission accomplished:

Open Run
Type Regedit
Then go all through the way until u reach here:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon is where you configure the
ability to log on to Windows XP automatically. First you set the REG_SZ value AutoAdminLogon to
1, which turns on this feature. Just remember that this is a REG_SZ value and not a REG_DWORD
value. Next set the values DefaultUserName and DefaultPassword to the user name and password
that you want to use to log on to the operating system. Both are REG_SZ values. Last, set the
REG_SZ value DefaultDomainName to the name of the domain that's authenticating your name and
password. Table below summarizes these values, which you create if they don't already exist.

Deleting System Options from the Start menu

Remove that System Option from ur start menu..Ahh...That will be better isnt it?If u want to use this trick...
You can actually remove the Find and Run options from the start
menu by performing a simple registry hack. Again like always
Launch the registry editor and scroll down to the below key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
\Policies\Explorer
Right-click on the right pane and select New, DWORD Value. Name
it NoFind.(To remove the RUN option name it NoRun). Double-click
the newly create DWORD to edit it's value and enter 1 as its value.
This will disable the FIND option of the Start Menu and will also
disable the default Shortcut key(F3 for Find.)

To restore the Run or find command modify the value of the
DWORD to 0 or simply Delete the DWORD value.

Colorful OutLook Express


I hate those schooly colors of Outlook. So do many of yew...I was just searching and found a wonderful trick this one will allow u to change its background so Its quite fun!Don't like the boring background colors of Outlook Express? To
change it launch the Windows Registry Editor and scroll down to the

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Mail And News
key.

On the left pane, click on ColorCycle or select Edit and Modify in the
menu. Now change the value to 1. Close and restart. Now, launch
Outlook Express and whenever you open up a New Message, hold
down ctrl-shift and tap the z key to scroll to change the background
color. Repeat the keystroke to cycle through the colors.

Access Restricted .DOS files


Want to get a sneak peak in those Dole files which are Restricted Though Quite Easy to do..and to get a good peak at the files :D
folders.DOS has a lovely command known
as START. Its general syntax is:

START application_path

It does do what it seems to do, start applications. So in you have
access to DOS then you can type in the START command to get
access to the restricted folder

Customizing the Right Click Context Menu of the Start Menu

One want to explore faster in the start menu what aboput increasing Right click options so that u can open ur favourite Applications faster??Woudnt that be easy?
When you right click on the start menu, only 3 options pop up:
Open, Explore, and Find. You can add your own programs to this
pop up menu( which comes up when we right click on it.) Open
Regedit and go to the following registry key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Shell

Right click on the shell and create a new Sub Key (You can create a
new SubKey by right clicking on the Shell Key and selecting New >
Key.). Type in the name of the application you want to add to the
start menu. I want to add Notepad to the Start Menu and hence I
name this new sub key, Notepad. Now right click on the new
registry key that you just created and create yet another new key
named Command. Enter the full path of the application, in this case
Notepad in the default value of Command in the right
pane. So I Modify the value of the default string value and enter the
full pathname of Notepad:

c:\wndows\notepad.exe.

Now press F5 to refresh. Now if you right click on the Start Button
you will find a new addition to the Pop Up Menu called Notepad.

Pop a banner each time Windows Boots


Simple one Can be used to inform anyone as u're off to take something from the refridgrator to take some thing and ur sis wants the pc It Will inform u thats its over booting it ;)To pop a banner which can contain any message you want to
display just before a user is going to log on, go to the key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVers
ion\WinLogon

Now create a new string Value in the right pane named
LegalNoticeCaption and enter the value that you want to see in the
Menu Bar. Now create yet another new string value and name it:
LegalNoticeText. Modify it and insert the message you want to
display each time Windows boots. This can be effectively used to
display the company's private policy each time the user logs on to
his NT box. It's .reg file would be: REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVer
sion\Winlogon]

"LegalNoticeCaption"="Caption here."
